Ms. Sarah Frances Groves West, age 91, of Ypsilanti, Michigan and formally of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life, Monday, November 18, 2019 at the home of her son. Sarah was born October 5, 1928 in Dalton, Georgia, the daughter of the late Samuel O. and Daisy Wills Groves. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arvie Chesley "A.C." West; sisters, Margaret Sneed Martin and Mary Sanders, and nephew, Lee Sanders. Sarah was a 1945 graduate of Dalton High School and a 1970 graduate of Dalton Vocational Nursing School.  She retired from Hamilton Medical Center after 25 years of caring and showing compassion to others.

Sarah is survived by her son, Michael, and daughter-in-law Melissa West; grandchildren, Troy (Linsey) Meadows, Kelly (Sara) Meadows and Corey (Jamie) Caldwell and great-grandchildren Rylynn Meadows, Summer Meadows, River Meadows and Addison Caldwell, all of Michigan.  Brother-in-law, Jimmy Sanders, along with several nieces, great nephews and great nieces all from Georgia.

Service to celebrate the life of Sarah will be held, Saturday November 23, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. from Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Marty Greene officiating. Burial will follow the service at West Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday November 23, 2019 from Ponders Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour of 3:00 p.m.
