Mrs. Sarah Loraine Underwood, age 78, of Dawnville Community in Whitfield County, Georgia, departed this life Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Murray Medical Center in Chatsworth, Georgia. Sarah was born March 7, 1935 in Montgomery, Alabama, a daughter of the late Roy and Zora Montgomery Beck. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Myra Beck and a brother, Neville Beck. She was retired from Hamilton Medical Center where she worked many years in Environmental Services.

She is survived by her husband, Fred Robert Underwood of the residence; sons and daughter-in-law, Fred Underwood, Terry Underwood, Larry and Terri Underwood; daughters and son-in-law, Charlotte Underwood, Angie and Chris Stokes all of Dalton, Georgia; brother and sister-in-law, Lofton and Rebecca Beck of Tuscaloosa, AL; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Sarah Loraine Underwood will be held Thursday morning, May 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Memorial Gardens with Reverend Chris Corbin and Stephen Underwood officiating. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013. Pallbearers will be Stephen, Daniel, Jacob and Jordan Underwood.
