Sara Lidue Townsend Hughes, age 51, of Fairmount passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017 after several months of illness. She was born in Bartow County March 16, 1965, she was the daughter of Bruce and Annie Sue Townsend. She was a member of Salacoa Baptist Church. She was the assistant manager for IGA of Fairmount. She was a 1984 graduate of Fairmount High School. She loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors along with her parents are, son Tony Hughes (Taren) of Fairmount; daughter Amber Hughes of Fairmount; grandchildren Brody Russell, Riley Hughes, Kiley Hughes, John Hughes, Brayden Russell; brothers, Ronald Townsend (Kim) of Sonoraville, Pete Townsend (Vicky) of Ranger; sister, Angie Renner (CD) of Fairmount; several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Sara Lidue Townsend Hughes will be held Saturday January 14, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from the Salacoa Baptist Church with Reverend Wilburn Ridings officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with CD Renner, Zeke Townsend, Jamey Collis, Danny Collis, Curtis Awtrey, and Drew Childers serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Hughes and Steven Renner. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday.
