Mrs. Sara Emma Farmer age 83, of Dalton, GA, and formerly of Macon, GA, passed away Tuesday September 6, 2016 at Regency Park Nursing Home. She was born January 13, 1933 in Cochran, GA, a daughter of the late Robert C. and Thelma Chambers Howard. She was also preceded in death by her son, Charles Farmer, brothers, Bud Howard, Clarence Edgar Howard, sisters, Hazel Howard, Mozell Herndon, Imogene Mathis. She was a member of the Salem Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Bobby Williams of Dalton, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Shawa Farmer of Tunnel Hill, GA; sister, Peggy Mullis of Cochran, GA; grandchildren, Jennifer and Tom Arnold, Kevin and Cherie Williams, Joseph and Sierra Farmer, Charlie and Ricki Farmer and John Wayne Farmer, Cindy Roberts, Landon and Brylee Farmer, Nicholas Hogg and Britany Painter; great grandchildren, Blake and Emma Arnold, Reese and Jackson Farmer, Ashley, Austin and Ally Farmer, Maddie Farmer, Brynlee Hogg, Alexa and Austin Roberts; nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Sara Emma Farmer will be held Friday September 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Pastor Jim Brinkley and Pastor Darey Kittle officiating. Interment will follow in Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with her grandsons and great grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Gideon's International.
