Mrs. Sara Holt Crawford, age 94, of Fairmount, Georgia, departed this life Thursday, December 5, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Sara was born October 28, 1919 in Gordon County, Georgia, a daughter of the late James Milford and Mae Orr Holt. She was also preceded in death by brothers; Raymond and Maurice Holt. Sara was born and raised in Gordon County. She left as a young adult to establish herself as a successful business woman in Atlanta returning to Fairmount as a senior citizen. She became involved in the Kiwanis Club, community activities and projects. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her loving husband Thomas "Tommy" Crawford Jr., a son and daughter in law; Richard and Jane Webb, and a daughter Sharon Mitchum. Sara is also survived by sisters; Ethylene McBee, Maxie Cronon and Peggie Hall. She has five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Sara Holt Crawford will be held 2:00 pm Sunday December 8, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Fairmount, Georgia with Reverend Rick Langston officiating. She will be laid to rest at Fain Cemetery in Calhoun, Georgia immediately following the service.

The family will receive friends Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Ponders Fairmount Chapel in Fairmount Georgia. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in her honor to either the Multiple Scleroses (MS) foundation or the ALS Association.
