Sandra Sue T. Woodward
Sandra Sue T. Woodward of Dalton passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at Hamilton Medical Center following a long illness.
She was born in Georgetown, Ky., and graduated from Georgetown College.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leo T. Thomas Sr. and Elizabeth Thomas Grant; brother, Capt. Leo T. Thomas Jr.
She is survived by her husband George of the residence; daughter and son-in-law, Lizzie and Howard Gold of Manhattan, N.Y.; son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Debbie Hebel of Frisco, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Noreen and Eddie Quire of Frankfort, Ky.; stepdaughters, Kathleen Tillman of Huntsville, Ala., and Lyndsay Eiserman of San Diego, Calif.; eight beautiful grandchildren, beloved nieces and nephews and dearest friend, Vivian Chance of Dalton.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt. She was a caring and loyal friend, a Master Gardener, gracious hostess, chef, party planner and entrepreneur. Sue possessed an excellent work ethic and was a valued member in her professional career.
She loved to work in her yard and regularly shared its bounty. She was so proud of her association with Silpada Jewelry and the many wonderful friendships that were built.
She was "Mama Sue" to many boys and girls and loved her cats.
A celebration of life is Friday, June 16, at 11 a.m. and will be officiated by Father Rick Tiff at St. Mark's Episcopal Church. The family will gather at the church's Memorial Garden following the service.
