Obituary

Mrs. Sandra Jean Cloer, age 80, of Chatsworth, Georgia, departed this life on Friday, November 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Sandra was born July 28, 1945, in Chatsworth, Georgia, a daughter of the late Grover James and Sarah Mae Davis Souther. She was also preceded in death by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Jeri and Marshall Ridley, JoAnn and Don Caylor; beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Tillie West Cloer.

She is survived by her devoted husband of sixty-five years, Temple Cloer of the residence; son, Allen Cloer of Dalton, GA; daughter, Lisa Cloer Wininger of Gulf Shores, AL; grandson, Jeremy Wininger and his wife, Erin; and her adored great-grandchildren, Connor, Ronan, and Piper Wininger. She is further survived by her nephews, nieces, and cousins, Pastor Donny Caylor and his wife, Stacey; Andy Caylor; Dr. Jamie Pappas; Mozelle Jackson; Joe Jackson; Lee Jackson; Benny and Tonyia Wininger; along with many special nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and co-workers whom she loved dearly. Each one held a special place in her heart.

Sandra lived a life defined by love, hard work, and giving. Strong, fierce, and unwaveringly loyal, she poured herself into her family and friends with a steady, generous spirit that made everyone around her feel seen and cared for. If you knew Sandra, you knew what it meant to be loved well.

For forty-two years, Sandra was a devoted employee of Queen Carpet (Shaw Industries). She took great pride in her work and treasured the relationships she built there. Some of her happiest memories were the reunions and gatherings hosted by Julian Saul, and she remained close to many of the people who had worked alongside her through the years. Her work family was truly family to her.

Sandra's compassion extended beyond people to every "fur baby" that wandered into her life—sometimes unexpectedly, but always welcomed and cherished. She had a heart that made room for everyone, and she supported and helped nearly all she knew in ways both big and small, often without fanfare.

Outside of home and work, Sandra's great passion was softball. She played joyfully into her early sixties and became a dedicated mentor to many along the way. Her teammates were more than teammates—they were family—and the friendships she formed on the field lasted a lifetime.

Sandra also had a gift in the kitchen. She was an avid baker and especially well known for her exceptional candy-making skills. Many looked forward to her Christmas baskets overflowing with her famous fudge, spiced pecans, and personalized treats—each one carefully made and shared with love. Her baking was just another way she took care of people, putting sweetness into the lives she touched.

Sandra loved life and lived it fully—always doing for others, always showing up, always finding ways to make someone's day brighter. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, loyalty, and the kind of love that keeps giving even after goodbye.
