Mr. Samuel Baker, age 83 of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday July 19, 2022 at the local hospital. He was born May 26, 1939 in Rome, GA a son of the late Elisha and Calvie Elrod Baker. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Vick Baker, son, David Wayne Baker, son-in-law, Jimmy Nix, great granddaughter, Stephanie Brewer, brothers, Charlie Baker, Bill Baker, Dan Baker, sister, Easter Gravitt.

He is survived by his son, James Wayne Baker of Dalton, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ann and Charles Allen, Margaret Nix of Dalton, GA, Kathy and Mark Hales of Chatsworth, GA; brothers and sister-in-law, Jerry and Bernice Baker of Chatsworth, GA, Carl Baker of Dalton, GA; fifteen grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Samuel Baker will be held Tuesday July 26, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose chapel with Nathan Trammell and Donny Trammell officiating. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday. He will be laid to rest beside his wife at the West Hill Cemetery.

Flowers will be accepted or donations be made to the family to help with expenses.
