Mr. Samuel Austin Ash Jr., age 72 of Chatsworth, Georgia, departed this life on Monday morning, November 19, 2018 at the Murray Medical Center.

Mr. Ash was born on March 31, 1946 in Chatsworth and was raised in the Ramhurst area of Murray County.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Austin  Ash Sr. and Mary Irene Clayton Ash.  Along with his mom and dad, his son had also passed away prior to his death, Tommy Gene Ash.

He graduated with his Bachelor's Degree.  Sam worked for The Federal Government with the US Army Corps of Engineers at Carters Lake for over twenty years until his retirement.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda McGill Ash of the home; a sister whom he raised as his own daughter, Rita Faye Stern, and her husband Bryan; grandchildren, Kelly Johnston and Walt Turner; sister, Julia Roberta Ash Dill; sisters-in-law, Marcelle Cantrell and Lucille Layman; brother-in-law, Judy McGill, all of Chatsworth, Georgia; several nices, nephews, cousins, family members and friends also survive Sam.

To fulfill Mr. Ash's request the family has elected cremation, and they will celebrate his life privately at a later date.
