Ms. Samantha Leann Weeks, age 37, of Resaca, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday evening, December 10, 2019 from injuries sustained in a pedestrian-truck accident.   Leann was born December 24, 1981 in Dalton, Georgia.   Leann was a 2000 graduate of Northwest High School. She was very athletic and loved playing all sports, especially softball and basketball. She played tournament softball since age ten.  She loved animals and was a professional groomer and worked many years at Top Dog Grooming.

Leann was a wonderful person who marched to the sound of her own drum.  She was caring and giving and loved life.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Vera Hewitt, O. L. and Gertie Weeks and aunt, Lisa Hewitt Tidwell.

She is survived by her mother and her companion, Tracy Weeks and Frankie Southern of Chatsworth, GA; father and step-mother, Johnny and Scarlett Weeks of Resaca, GA ; brother and sister-in-law, Johnny Lee and Sandra Weeks; nephews, Michael and Christian Weeks all of Resaca, GA; grandfather, Jerry Hewitt of Rocky Face, GA, Barbara "Goose" Jones, Stanley and Jean Sutton all of Chatsworth, GA; aunts and uncle, Stacey and Kim Hewitt of Tunnel Hill, GA, Bobbie Weeks of Chatsworth, GA; special friends, Victor and Summer Bettis of Varnell, GA; and her special fur babies companions, her Chihuahuas, Colby, Chole and Karma.

Services to celebrate the life of Ms. Samantha Leann Weeks will be held Monday, December 16, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Taylor Gallman officiating.  Honored to serve as pallbearers will be, Stacey Hewitt, Erin Tidwell, Leon Weeks, Justin Weeks, Victor Bettis, Noah Walden, Christian Weeks and Michael Weeks.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday and after 10:00 a.m. Monday until the service hour.
