Mrs. Sadie Loretta Henson, age 69, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, July 13, 2026.

Born on July 8, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Billy and Laurein Wilkey Goins Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Wayne Brown, and her sister, Norma Jean Massingale.

Sadie was truly one of a kind. She was outspoken, genuine, and had a heart of gold. She loved spending time with her family and cherished every opportunity to attend family gatherings, visit loved ones, go riding, and spend the day searching yard sales or digging through storage units for hidden treasures. Her greatest joy was caring for those she loved. Even when her health made it difficult, she would stand with her walker to prepare a meal just to make sure everyone was fed. She was the foundation of her family and will be remembered for her strength, generosity, and unwavering love.

She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend.

She is survived by her beloved husband of more than 30 years, Ricky Henson; her daughters, Becky Underwood (John) of Resaca and Betsy Ragsdale of Adairsville; her brother, Billy Ray Brown of Chatsworth; her sisters, Otsy Fowler of Calhoun and Bobby Redd (John) of Taylorsville; her stepsons, Shane Henson and Heath Henson; her grandchildren, Tiffany Mills (AJ), Keith Underwood (Kalee), Brittany Hilley, Brooke Satterfield (Shae), Karlee Henson, and Kayla Underwood. She is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026, in the Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home in Calhoun, with Shae Satterfield officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.

Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Fowler, Keith Underwood, Jaxon Wooten, and Brody Fowler.

Though her presence will be deeply missed, Sadie's love, strength, and the countless memories she created with those she loved will remain in their hearts forever.
