Mrs. Sadie Byers, age 68, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Thursday morning, May 28, 2015 at Quinton Memorial Health Care. Sadie was born July 20, 1946 in Dalton, GA, a daughter of the late Virgil and Lottie Clark West. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Winford Byers, brother, Charles West.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Roy Lee Byers, James and Lisa Byers; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Matt Akins; brother, Samuel West all of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Michael Byers, Nicholas and Katie Carter, Dustin Byers; great grandchildren, Ryan Byers, Hannah Byers, Jabril and Lalia Wahid; best friend, Nellie Brooks of Dalton, GA; nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Sadie Byers will be held Sunday May 31, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Lamont Womac officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the United Memorial Gardens with Michael Byers, Dustin Byers, Nicholas Carter, Jeremy Carroll, Jason Carroll, and Heath Carroll serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday.
