Mrs. Ruth Newland Wagner, age 85, of Fairmount, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was born March 7, 1932 in Bristol, TN, a daughter of the late Lesley and Theo Newland. She was also preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Dick Knox,

She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Jack Wagner of the residence; sons and daughter-in-law, David Wagner of Fairmount, GA, Daniel and Marla Wagner of Easley, SC; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Mark Sparks of Irmo, SC, Lydia and Jon Cowles of Tulley, NY; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Joann Newland of Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Benjamin Sparks, Jonathan Sparks, Boaz Cowles, Abigail Cowles, Anna Cowles, Nathanael Wagner.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Ruth Newland Wagner will be held Saturday June 17, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. from the Ponders Calhoun Chapel with Mark Sparks officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
