Mrs. Ruth Ann Johnson, age 79, of Dalton, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord Saturday morning, May 12, 2018 at the home of her daughter in Calhoun, Georgia, surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was born November 7, 1938 in Blue Ridge, Georgia, a daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison and Bertie Seabolt Norton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Julian Harris Johnson, who died October 12, 1992, sister, Grace Patterson and infant brother, W.L. Norton.
Ruth loved her family and her church family. She enjoyed serving the Lord and always had a smile on her face. The last 11 years were disrupted by Dementia but her happy heart still shined bright.
She is survived by her son, Michael Johnson of Blue Ridge, GA, son and daughter-in-law, Lamar and Angie Johnson of Lake Park, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Vivian and Rick Manis of Calhoun, GA; grandchildren, Nick and Lesleigh Manis, Heather and Drew Carter; Mitchell Johnson, Cody and Lindsey Johnson, and Brittany Crow. great-grandchildren; Rylan and Callan Manis, Camryn Carter and Charlotte Johnson. sisters, Donna Norton, Shirley "Sue" Deaton, Kip Cooper and Etta Kyle; brothers, Junior Norton, Jim Norton, Albert Norton, Jessie Norton and Jerry Norton; several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Ruth Ann Johnson will be held Monday, May 14, 2018 at 5 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Bruce Beach officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at the West Hill Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel Monday, May 14, 2018 after 3 p.m. until the service hour.
