Mrs. Ruby Jane Butler Saylor age 65 of Dalton, Georgia departed this life Thursday March 28, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Ruby was born October 31, 1953 in Ravens Cross, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Alonzo and Hattie Franks Butler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Saylor in 1990 and brothers, Jessie Butler and Tommy Butler and a sister, Bernice Boker.
She worked many years as at the nursing home in Harlan, Kentucky. She was a lifelong member of The Church of God of the Union Assembly.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, John and Sarah Saylor of Jeffersonville, IN, Jason and Renea Butler of Jefferson City, TN, Willie and April Saylor of Greenville, KY, Mitchell "Joe" and Ming Saylor of Harlan, KY; daughters and son-in-law, Melissa Saylor of Jeffersonville, IN, Rachelle Saylor of Dalton, GA, Nikki and Paul Ferrara of Louisville, KY; step-daughter, Terri Griffy of Harlan, KY; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alonzo and Charlene Butler, Jr., Charlie and Kay Butler, Tonia Butler and Shirley Butler all of Knoxville, TN, Herbie and Tina Butler of Rock Hill, SC; sisters and brothers-in-law, Clara and Gene Scalf, Berdie and Jack Tankersley all of Dalton, GA, Betty Sawyer, Pearly Godsey Dyer both of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Kimberly Partin, Haydon Butler, Cody Maggard and his fiancée, Ashely Asher, Mason Saylor, Joseph Saylor; step-grandchildren, Dillon Cornett and Matthew Griffy; great-grandson, Ethan Partin; several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Ruby Jane Butler will be held Monday, April 1, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at The Church of God of the Union Assembly, 221 S. Dixie Hwy, Dalton, GA, with Reverend Stoney Kiser and Reverend Lonnie Starnes officiating. She will be laid to rest at Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with her close family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the church after 10:00 a.m. Monday until the service hour.
