Mrs. Ruby Dean Hayes, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Thursday, April 14, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Ruby was born November 12, 1929 in Resaca, Georgia, a daughter of the late Henry and Fannie Blankenship Thomas. Ruby was also preceded in death by her first husband, Alvin, a daughter, Patricia, infant son Terry Dean, four brothers and two sisters. Ruby was retired from Cornett Carpet and was a member of the Gethsemane Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Hayes; daughter, Judy Black; son, Tommy Dean; grandchildren, Jamie and Roy Shannion and Jason and Kimberly Black; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Logan Black, Asthon and Milia Black; several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to say a special thanks to the ladies at Hamilton Hospice and Health Care.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Ruby Dean Hayes will be held Sunday, April, 17, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Gethsemane Baptist Church, 4762 Mitchell Bridge RD, NE, Dalton, GA, 30721, with Reverend Michael McDougle officiating. Interment will follow in the Dawnville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
