Mrs. Ruby "Joliene" Defore, age 64, of Tunnel Hill, GA, departed this life Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at the Memorial Hospital. She was born February 23, 1957 in Dalton, GA, a daughter of the late Robert C. and Ruby Mae Colinger Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Wayne Defore, brothers, Danny Smith, Bobby Smith, sisters, Lou Ann Kendall, Genita Pickard, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Otis and Della Williams Defore

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Defore Pickett of Tunnel Hill, GA; brothers and sister-in-law, Charles and Vondine Smith of Mississippi, Edward Fricks of Tunnel Hill, GA; sister, Jerry Sue Reed of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Barrett Addin Defore, Kelsey Brooke Smith, Alexis Cierra Pickett; great grandchildren, Keondre Devon Anderson, Kamyilah Brooklyn Smith; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Kathy and Michael Deems of Rocky Face, GA, Sandra Hough of Calhoun, GA, Timmy Defore of Dalton, GA; several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Ruby "Joliene" Defore will be held Sunday April 4, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Michael Deems officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Dunagan Cemetery with Ken Adams, Anthony Harris, Bryan Pickett, Henry Myers, Matthew Brooks, Christopher Smith and Davantae Kimble serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Due to the national health crisis and the Covid-19 virus, masks must be worn properly at all times and social distancing must be observed when visiting the funeral home.
