Mrs. Ruby Mae Beam, age 75, of Chatsworth, Georgia, departed this life on Monday, March 17, 2025, at her home.

Ruby was born in Fannin County, Georgia, a daughter of the late Tom and Bessie Davenport Dyer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marvin A. Beam; her sisters, Gladys Kendrick and Effie Ramey; her brothers, Jess Dyer, Lester Dyer, Fred Dyer, William Dyer, and Homer Gene Dyer; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Prince and Ada Beam.

Fiercely independent and never one to shy away from speaking her mind, Ruby lived life on her own terms. She didn't care what others thought, and you never had to wonder where you stood with her—she'd tell you straight. A woman of strength and character, she valued honesty and lived with an unapologetic spirit.

Ruby was retired from Shaw Industries and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—trout fishing at the CC camps and testing her luck at the slot machines at the casino. She loved the thrill of the game and the peace of the outdoors.

She is survived by her sister and caregivers, Connie and Doug Thomas of Chatsworth, GA; sisters, Evalee Pilcher of Dalton, GA, Katherine Hardin of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, and Debronda Lablanc of Waverly, MS; brother, Randall and Darla Dyer of Eton, GA; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Donna Dyer of Ringgold, GA, Betty Dyer of Dalton, GA, Claude Beam, Charlie "Bud" Beam, Pauline and Steve Witherow, Irene and Buddy Gibson, all of Chatsworth, GA, and Wilma Bramblett of Resaca, GA; along with several beloved nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Friday, March 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at New Hope-Kilgore Cemetery in Murray County, Georgia, with her nephew, Reverend Alan Gibson officiating. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, and after 10:00 a.m. Friday until the service hour.
