Mr. Roy Newton Cucksee, age 73 of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life, Tuesday October 26, 2021 at Etowah Landing Care and rehabilitation Center in Rome, Georgia.

Roy was born September 27, 1948 in Whitfield County, Georgia, a son of the late Jesse Washington and Thelma Elizabeth Ruth Malone Cucksee.  He was also preceded in death by a son, LeRoy Neal Cucksee and a brother, William L Cucksee.

Roy proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.  He earned an Associate's Degree in Business from Dalton State College.  He was a member of the American Legion.

Roy was a jokester and loved to make people laugh.

He is survived by his son, Jason Cucksee of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Dawson Cucksee, Carlee Cucksee, Hattie Jean Cucksee and Matthew Cucksee; brother, Farrell and Donna Cucksee of Dalton, GA; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many cousins.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Roy Newton Cucksee will be held Tuesday evening November 2, 2021 at 7:00 o'clock p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Ricky Spence officiating.  Military honors will be provided by the Dalton American Legion Post #112.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 5:00 o'clock p.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2021 until the service hour.
