Mr. Roy Burgess Buttrum, age 59, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, departed this life Monday, July 21, 2014 at his home. Roy was born January 24, 1955 in Bartow County, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Sue Knight Buttrum, sister, Linda Long and a son, Tony Buttrum.

He is survived by his son, Dewayne Buttrum of Lewisburg, TN; daughter, Linda Buttrum of Chattanooga, TN; father and step-mother, R.B. and Sissy Buttrum of Calhoun, GA; brother, Charles and Betty Ann Buttrum of Cartersville, GA; grandchildren, T. J. and Austin Buttrum of Columbia, TN; special friend, Ronnie Bramblett of Fairmount, GA; nieces, Rhonda Buttrum and Mandy Buttrum; several aunts and uncles.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Roy Burgess Buttrum will be held Friday morning, July 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Ponders Calhoun Chapel with Reverend Terry Conner officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Pine Log United Methodist Church Cemetery in Rydal, Georgia, with Avery Conner, Terry Conner, Eddie Conner, Zachariah Conner, Bryson Pendley, Ronnie Bramblett, Austin Willix and Brady Willix serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Calhoun Chapel from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday and after 10:00 a.m. Friday until the service hour.
