Mr. Rosendo Valdez, age 57, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Saturday morning, May 20, 2023, while hiking with his family and his beloved husky, Titan in the Rocky Face Ridge Park.

Rosendo was born October 19, 1965 in Zacatecas, Zac., Mexico, a son of the late Raul Valdez Medina and Maria Guadalupe Roman de Valdez.  He was a 1983 graduate of CBTis High School in Actopan, Hidalgo, Mexico. He received his Civil Engineering Degree from Instituto Politecnico Nacional in Mexico City.  He was employed at Shaw Industries for over twenty years.  He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Rosendo is survived by his wife, Lidia Olincatl Valdez; daughter and her boyfriend, Olincatl Valdez and Tanner Thomas; son and his girlfriend, Ross Valdez and Hannah Smith; brothers and sisters-in-law, Raul and Florencia Valdez, Roberto Valdez, and Felipe and Griselda Valdez all of Dalton, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolina Valdez and Paulino Liquidano of Dalton, GA, Virginia Valdez of Pachuca, Mex., Lorena Mendoza and Francisco Mendoza of Dalton, GA, and Maria Guadalupe Valdez and Miguel Garcia of New Orleans, LA; special companion he thought of as a son, his six year old husky, Titan; niece, Yerenia Valdez of Dalton, GA; many other nieces, nephews and cousins.

A prayer service to celebrate the life of Mr. Rosendo Valdez will be held Friday, May 26, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Father Salomon Garcia officiating. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.  Friday.  Inurnment will follow in the Celebration Columbarium at Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum.
