Obituary for Mr. Ronnie Huger "Rag" Waters

Mr. Ronnie Huger "Rag" Waters, age 65, of Chatsworth, Georgia, departed this life Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton, Georgia.

Ronnie was born April 17, 1960, in Muncie, Indiana, a son of the late Huger and Wilda Watson Waters. He was also preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Desiree Lynn Waters, who tragically passed away on February 21, 2019; sisters, Sharon Moore and Kathy Burchfield; and brothers, Clinton Waters, Roger Waters, Leamon Waters, and Pete Waters.

Even after becoming disabled in 2007, Ronnie's greatest joy and purpose in life was caring for and being with his family. His strength, love, and humor never wavered, and his devotion left an unforgettable mark on all who knew him. Ronnie's heart was full of love, and his family was the center of his world. Though his earthly journey has ended, he is now reunited with his precious daughter Desiree, finding eternal peace together.

Ronnie is survived by his loving wife, Ronetta Tolbert Waters, with whom he would have celebrated forty-two years of marriage on December 28, 2025; daughter and son-in-law, Ashley Campbell and Mario Castillo of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Mae Waters, Abigail Campbell, Nevaeh Jackson, Jemarii Jackson, Jordan Castillo, and Justice Castillo; sister, Carol Cothran; brother, Bruce (Mattie) Waters, all of Dalton, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Ronnie Huger "Rag" Waters will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Jeremy Cronan officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his daughter at Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Queener, Shaun Campbell, Hunter Tolbert, Jemarii Jackson, Ronnie Dale Tolbert, Robert Waters, Patrick Burchfield, and Dylan Bartenfield.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday and after 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday until the service hour.
