Mr. Ronnie Dean Ponders, age 55, of Dalton, GA, departed this life Sunday, December 27, 2015 at the Erlanger Hospital. Ronnie was born October 21, 1960 in Dalton, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Ponders, grandparents, McKinley and Cleo Parker, L.A and Roxie Ponders, aunts and uncles, Selvia and Roy Swilling, Aslee Mathis, Felton Parker and James Parker. He is survived by his mother, Estelle Ponders; aunts and uncles, Wanda and Steve Champion, Evelyn and Paul Porter, Ruby and Quinn Smith, Raymond and Diane Parker, Versell and Junior Rice, Vernice Andrews, Geneva Parker, Brenda Parker, Kenneth Mathis, Anna Harkins; several cousins. Services to celebrate the life of Ronnie Ponders will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Bruce Edwards and Reverend Timothy Parker officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Fairview Church of God Cemetery in Oakman, Georgia. Terry Swilling, Timothy Parker, Larry Owens, Greg Lock, Justin Owens and Daryl Eaton will serve as pallbearers.
