Mr. Robert Edward Walden Sr., age 74, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday morning, April 2, 2014 at the local hospital. Robert was born January 13, 1940 in Chattanooga, TN, a son of the late Joseph and Virginia White Walden. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Tommy Walden, Daniel Walden, Walter Walden, sisters, Frances Howard, Lily Mae Walden, Mary Haynes, Margie Howard.

He is survived by his son, Robert Walden Jr.; daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda Webb and James Stevens of Dalton, GA, Sheenah Dennard and Kenneth Love of Brunswick, GA; best friend, Ruth Raper of Cohutta, GA; brother, James Walden of Dalton, GA; sisters, Patricia Hixson of Ooltewah, TN, Catherine Sisemore of Chickamauga, GA, Anna Belle Paige of Calhoun, GA; grandchildren, Lewis Crider, Andrea Crider, Joshua Webb of Dalton, GA, Ray Love, Youlanda Love, Aaliyah Love, Kensley Walder, Courtney Wilkerson of Brunswick, GA; special nephews, Johnny Layman and Joshua Jones of Dalton, GA; several other nieces and nephews,

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Robert Edward Walden Sr. will be held Monday April 7, 2014 at 11:00 AM from the Ponders Melrose Chapel. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Monday,
