Mr. Robert "Leon" Rogers, age 62, of Chatsworth, GA, departed this life, Friday, December 30, 2016. Leon was born July 11, 1954 in Chatsworth, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl and Ruby Rogers and his father, Malcolm Avirett and his biological father, Wilburn Hickey. Leon served his country in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by the love of his life, his son Adam Earl Rogers; mother, Jenevelyn Avirett of Chatsworth, GA; sisters, Joy King of Calhoun, GA, and Aileen and Craig Casey of Four Oaks, NC; brothers, Ron Hickey and Lee Hickey; mother of his son, Michelle Yonash; good friend, David Loudermilk all of Chatsworth, GA; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 04, 2017.

Leon has chosen to be cremated and inurnment services will be held in the spring.
