Mr. Robert Harrison Gillespie Jr., age 58, of Dalton, GA, departed this life and went to be with the Lord, Wednesday July 13, 2016 at Erlanger Medical Center. Robert was born, May 27, 1958, the son of the late Robert and Martha Stanley Gillespie Sr. Robert was employed at Shaw Industries, Plant 23. Robert graduated from Southeast High School, enjoyed riding around sight-seeing and spending time with his wife and his precious dog, Lady Bug. He was a member of Christian Freeworship Church and loved his church family and spending time helping as much as he could. He loved to cook and found his recipes from Facebook, where he spent a lot of time interacting with friends and family.

Mr. Robert Harrison Gillespie Jr, is survived by his loving wife, Donna Green Gillespie, they would have celebrate 31 years of marriage, August 30,2016; sister, Phyllis Blackwell of Easley, SC; brothers, James and Terri Blackwell of Dalton, GA, Mervyn and Judy White of Chatsworth, GA, and many nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Robert Harrison Jr, will be held, Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. from Ponders Melrose Chapel, Rev. Betty Jo Wells and Rev. Kevin Hulsey officiating. Interment will follow the service at West Hill Cemetery with Jeremy Blackwell, Matthew White, Chandler, Nichols, Shawn Reed, T.J. Lawson and Justin Lawson serving as pallbearers.

The family will received friends, Friday July 15, 2016 at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and from 11:00 a.m. Saturday until the service hour.

Flowers will be accepted or donation can be made to Donna Gillespie for medical expenses.
