Robert Glenn "Bob" Ferriss, age 87, of Hixson, Tennessee, departed this life peacefully at his residence on January 1, 2025.

Born on May 28, 1937, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Bob was the beloved son of the late Clarence Jack and Ruby Frost Ferriss. A proud 1956 graduate of Central High School, he spent over 38 dedicated years as a machinist at the Mueller Company. He was well-known for his exceptional skill and unwavering commitment to his trade. He also worked 10 years for Sears at Hamilton Place after his time at Mueller Company, where he built meaningful friendships.

Bob had a deep love for old country music, which was often the soundtrack to cherished moments with family and friends. A faithful Christian, he was a devoted husband to Shirley Shadwick Ferriss, his high school sweetheart. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and enduring memories, and they would have celebrated 69 years of marriage on June 1, 2025.

Bob was a wonderful father to his daughters, Kim Llewellyn and Kristie Ferriss of Hixson, TN, and Kay Varns of Murfreesboro, TN. He was also a proud and loving grandfather to Brittany Robinson and Stephanie Agrifoglio, as well as a loving great-grandfather to his three great-grandchildren, Andrew, Austin, and Axel.

Above all, Bob will be remembered for his dedication to his family and his faith, his passion for his work, and the joy he found in life's simplest pleasures.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Robert Glenn "Bob" Ferriss will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 1 pm in the Ponders Brainerd Chapel, with Reverend Denny Smith officiating. Bob will be laid to rest at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Brainerd Chapel, 4203 Brainerd Rd., Chattanooga, Tennessee, on Wednesday morning, beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
