Mr. Robert L. Elders, age 80, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Thursday afternoon, March 17, 2016 at the local hospital. Robert was born March 21, 1935 in Dalton, GA, a son of the late Barney and Lilly Mae Elders. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Johnson Elders, brother, Charles Elders, sister, Mabel Louise Elders.

He is survived by his son, David Elders; brothers, B.W. "Dub" Elders, Jim Elders, Steve Elders all of Dalton, GA; sisters, Lucille Stanley of Dalton, GA, Ruth Thompson of Crandall, GA, Bernice Lowman of Dalton, GA; several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Robert L. Elders will be held Monday March 21, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Charles Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in the Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday.
