Mr. Robert Edward "Ed" Yott, age 71, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Sunday morning, November 18, 2018 at the local hospital  Ed was born June 13, 1947 in Marion County, Tennessee, a son of the late Arthur Jake and Cora L. Rittenberry Yott, Jr.  He was also preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Otis Odell Copper.

Ed worked on the Railroad for many years and was a truck driver prior to retirement.

He was funny and had a great sense of humor.  He was a hard worker and loved his family deeply.

He is survived by his daughter, April Spain; grandchildren, Blanton Spain and Palmer Laager all of Savannah, GA; brother, Charles Yott; sisters, Linda Wilson, Wanda Yott all of Dalton, GA, and Mary Jo Swanson of Riverside, CA; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Robert Edward "Ed" Yott will be held Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens Pavilion with his nephew, Anthony Yott and other family members speaking. He will be laid to rest beside his beloved parents.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 11:00 a.m. Saturday until the service hour.
