Mr. Ricky E. Smith, age 55, departed this life, Sunday December 6, 2020 at Hamilton Medical Center. He was born January 30, 1965 in Dalton, GA. He was preceded in death by his father, HB Smith, grandparents, Rosalee and Clayton Wood, Elizabeth and Clifford Smith. He was a Deacon at Spring Hill Church and worked at Shaw Industries for 35 years. He was a devoted husband, son and friend to all he knew.

He is survived by his wife of 34years, Renee Smith of the residence; mother Jo Ann Smith of Chatsworth, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Tara Leanne and Will Ayers, Ashley and Jeremy Stafford of Chatsworth, GA; honorary brother, Brian Johnson of Virginia; special pet, Coco; nephews, AJ Stafford, Toby Marshall, Cody Slade; nieces, Beverly Henderson, Beth Henderson, Madison Hewitt, Hannah Powell; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Ricky E. Smith will be held Monday December 14, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Pastor Dale Longhorn officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Monday.
