Mr. Ricky Lamar Mitchell age 61 of Chatsworth, GA, departed this life Monday August 29, 2016 at the Murray Medical Center. Ricky was born August 18, 1955 in Dalton, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar "Buck" and Irene Welch Mitchell, sisters, Shirley Ann Dempsey, Linda Faye Hudson, brother, Sammy Mitchell.

He is survived by his wife Ingrid Mitchell of the residence; a son, Shannon Mitchell; daughters, Casey Lynn Mitchell, Miranda Cole, Samantha Higgins; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Karen Mitchell of Dalton, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Tom Pappas of Dalton, GA, Cathy and Howard Kelley of Chatsworth, GA; sister-in-law Vicky Mitchell; nephews, Corby Mitchell, Sammy Mitchell Jr., Josh Kernea, Matt Mitchell, Randall Dempsey; nieces, Susan Mitchell, Shelley Hill, Adrienne Hankins, Jennifer Davenport, Melissa Maney Voiles, six grandchildren, several great nieces and nephews as well.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Ricky Lamar Mitchell will be held Friday September 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday September 1, 2016. At his request Ricky will be cremated at the Dalton Crematory at 138 Melrose Drive Dalton, GA 30721.
