Ricky Joe "Slick Rick" Camp, age 67, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
Born on October 4, 1958, Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Arther Churchill Camp and Nettie Louise Owens Camp, brothers Robert, Michael, and Tommy Camp.
Ricky was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who always put his family first. He was known for his strong work ethic and often joked that he was "the cleanest mechanic around." Ricky dedicated 30 years of service to Baker Wrecker Service, where he earned the respect and friendship of many coworkers.
His grandchildren were the light of his life and brought him endless joy. He was an avid NASCAR fan and faithfully attended Agape Baptist Church, where he loved worshiping alongside his church family.
Ricky leaves behind the love of his life, his devoted wife, Deneen Frances Camp. He is also survived by his son, Mark Ruble and daughter in law, Jennifer Daniels, of Illinois; his daughter and son in law, Dena Higgins and Jacob Carter, of Chatsworth, Georgia; his brothers, Greg Camp of Rome, Georgia, and Danny Camp and his wife, Ann Marie, of Fort Saint Lucy, FL, Georgia; his sisters, Nancy Holder of Rome, Georgia, and Donna Graham of Cartersville, Georgia.
He was a proud and loving grandfather to Kalynn Higgins, Kasen Tate, Kinley Higgins, Kaden Ruble, Rhylee Ruble, and Ryker Ruble, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Agape Baptist Church in Calhoun, Georgia, with the Reverend Brian Childs, Reverend Wayne Neal, and Reverend Mitchell McDougle officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the service hour at the church.
Interment will follow at Chandler Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jacob Carter, Brett Gibson, Kelly Morrison, Chris "Bozo" Brown, Ryan Brown and Mark Ruble. Honorary pallbearers will be John Williams, Bobby Shirley, Raymond Smith, Danny Mowry, and Terry "TT" Timms.
Ricky will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his faithful heart, his dedication to his work, and the kindness and laughter he shared with everyone who knew him. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
