Mr. Richard Roy White, age 62, of Chatsworth, Georgia, departed this life Friday evening, February 24, 2017 at Pruitt Health Care in LaFayette, Georgia. Richard was born May 23, 1954 in LaFayette, Georgia, a son of the late Thomas Milton and Ruby Mae Higgins White. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Jerry White and Cecil White and a sister, Joyce Faye White.

He is survived by his sisters, Clara Welch of Dalton, GA, Tommie Lee Wright of Chatsworth, GA, and Doris Marie Smith of Albany, GA; brother, James Aaron Burns of Dalton, GA; special nieces, Haylie Amber Welch and Leeanne Shepherd both of Dalton, GA; cousin, Michael Brown of Chatsworth, GA; special friend and caregiver, Tanya Shell of Calhoun, GA; several other nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Richard Roy White will be held Monday, February 27, 2017 at Ponders Melrose Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Ricky Spence officiating. He will be laid to rest with his family at the White Cemetery in Villanow, Georgia, with Bobby Wright, Daymon Atkins, Eric Atkins, Michael Brown, Dewayne Brown and Ira Purkey serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday.
