Mr. Richard Ellis "Steve" Stephens, Jr., age 72 of Dalton, GA, departed this life Friday December 20, 2019 at his residence.    Steve was born April 13, 1947 in Cincinnati, Ohio, a son of the late Richard Ellis and Irma Jean Carmack Stephens, Sr.  He was a 1966 graduate of Lakota High School in Cincinnati, Ohio.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.  He served three tours in Vietnam and was the recipient of the Bronze Star.  He worked for over thirty-three years at United Air Specialist where he retired as the plant manager.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Michael James Stephens who died May 31, 2017.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Tammy Stephens of Dalton, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Rich Thompson of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren, Emily and Ellis Stephens, Dominick, Lanie and Anthony Calcara, Lexi and Jayce Thompson; former wife and her husband, Eleanor and John Lenarduzzi of Harrison, OH; special friend, Donald Barber of Cincinnati, OH; brothers and sister-in-law, Charlie "Jeff" Stephens of Cincinnati, OH, and John Stephens of Texas; several nieces and nephews.

He will be laid to rest beside his son at the Brookside Cemetery, 1624 West Chester Rd, West Chester, Ohio, 45069
