Mrs. Rhonda Kay McCoy, age 63, of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, departed this life July 13, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Rhonda was born December 14, 1960, in Dalton, Georgia, a daughter of the late Ronald Lee and Lucy Annette Haygood Peters.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, John David McCoy, Jr., March 10, 2020, and her only child, Jeremy David McCoy, February 6, 2016, brothers, Terry Peters, Ricky Lee Peters and Stevie Peters, nephew, Russell Peters and niece, Misty Peters, grandparents, Pearl and Frank Planzer, Charlie Haygood and Ida Terry.

Rhonda is survived by her niece and caregiver, Heidi Hollifield of Tunnel Hill, GA,; nephew and niece, Zack and Tara Peters of Atlanta, GA; uncle, Frank Planzer, Jr. of Resaca, GA; great-nephews and great-nephews, Ivey Peters, Adalyn Peters, Benjamin Peters, Skyler Hollifield and Declan Hollifield; sisters-in-law, Herbie Peters of Cohutta, GA, and Jackie Cargal of Tunnel Hill, GA; cousins, Jason and Jennifer Planzer, Chris Planzer and LaShanda and Johnny Callahan.

Graveside services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Rhonda Kay McCoy will be held Saturday morning, July 20, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at West Hill Cemetery with Reverend Zack Peters officiating.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday until the service hour.
