Obituary

Reverend Ben Carter age 81, of Cleveland, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Saturday November 29, 2014 at his residence. Ben was born June 30, 1933 in High Point, Alabama, a son of the late Floyd K. and Sally Leona King Carter. He was also preceded in death by a step-son, Thomas Edmonds, and brothers, John Wesley "Dub" Carter and Billy Bogue.

Ben dedicated his life to the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age. He was ordained in the Church of God of the Union Assembly in 1962 and pastored several churches. He was a true Christian not just in word but indeed.

He is survived by his loving wife of forty-nine years, Louise Sisk Carter of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Bennie and Cindy Carter of Bradenton, FL; grandchildren, Philip and Monique Carter, Paula and Durando Pratt, Austin Carter, Michaela Carter and Derris Edmonds; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Pamela, Drew and Skyler Carter; brother and sisters-in-law, Alton and Dora Carter of Cartersville, GA, Barbara Bouge of Albertville, AL; sisters, Jamie Lou Wilhelm of Scottsboro, AL, Carolyn Cookston of Phoenix, AZ, Doris Ball of S. Pittsburg, AL; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Carolyn Sisk of Summerville, GA, Ernest and Anna Sisk of Rock Hill, SC, and Mamie Sisk of Cleveland, TN; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Reverend Ben Carter will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of God of the Union Assembly with Reverend Kenneth Sisk officiating. He will be laid to rest at Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with Henry Hand, Ricky Maddron, Paul Franklin Carter, Lane Hall, Philip Carter, Austin Carter, Tran Sisk and Marcus Sisk serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until the service time.
