Reverend Jack Bailey Cornett age 71, of Dalton, GA, when home to be with his Lord Wednesday January 11, 2017 at the local hospital. Jack was born October 16, 1945 in Harlan, KY, a son of the late Less and Ruth Parsons Cornett. He was preceded in death by his wife Thelma Irene Cornett, step-daughters, Glenda Adams, Joan Rymer, sister, Bobbie Cornett, special cousin, April Parsons Forester. He was an avid hunter, minister and loved to walk and ride his bicycle.

He is survived by his sisters and brother-in-law, Janette Cornett of Harlan, KY, Brenda and Sam Foster of Danville, KY; step children, LaGonda and Carl Beavers of Dalton, GA, Vernon and Jeanie Gillian of Knoxville, TN, Tex and Betty Gillian, Ricky Lane Gillian of Cohutta, GA, Billie and Ronnie Phillips of Dalton, GA; special cousin, Lynnwood and Judy Parsons of Danville, KY; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Jack Bailey Cornett will be held Saturday January 14, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Charles Weaver, Reverend Ben Clayton and Reverend Wayne Owenby officiating. Interment will follow in the Ponders Murray Memorial Gardens with Lynwood Parsons, Ronnie Phillips, Scott White, Chris White, Ricky Gillian and Hunter White serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday.
