Mr. Rene Hoke Lanier, age 91, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life, Tuesday April 3, 2018 at his residence. He was born August 12, 1926, in White Plains, Georgia, a son of the late Walter and Gertrude Smith Lanier. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Maxine A. Lanier, eight brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Dialphia Lanier of Elko, GA, Bill and Mary Margaret Lanier; daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Scott Hannah of Dalton, GA; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren.
Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Rene Hoke Lanier will be held Friday April 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m., from Ponders Melrose Chapel with Dr. Danny Cochran officiating. Interment will follow in the United Memorial Gardens with Mark Hannah, Tom Lanier, Sam Lanier, Andrew Evans, Jamie Kemp, Josh Burnham, and John Whidden serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friday.

Special thanks to caregiver Judy Ellison, nurses Felicia Rutledge, Connie Bryant and the staff of Hamilton Hospice for the love and care they gave to Mr. Lanier and his family.
