Mr. Raymond Cline Hackney, age 90 of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday October 22, 2014 at the local hospital. Raymond was born February 21, 1924 in Varnell, Georgia, a son of the late, Fred and Florence Cline Hackney. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Lee Green Hackney, brothers, Lee Hackney, Winfred Hackney, sisters, Maude Richmond, Annie Lou Sampson, Sybil Evans. He proudly served in the United States Navy.

He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Rebecca Hackney; sisters, Edna Sutton, Dorothy Welch all of Dalton, GA; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Raymond C. Hackney will be held Saturday October 25, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Ed Henderson, Reverend Frank Ellis and Reverend Willie Torres officiating. The interment will follow in the Little Prospect Memorial Gardens with Jimmy Welch, Jerry Cole Jr., Jimmy Cole, Joey Sampson, Shun Sampson, and Allen Blackwell serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Clyde Richmond and Jack Cornett. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
