Mr. Raymond B. Cochran age 81, of Chatsworth, Georgia, passed away Friday, August 29, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Cochran was born December 26, 1932 in Cuthburt, Georgia a son of the late, Homer Cochran and Irene Mauldin Cochran. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Millard and Eunice Welch; brothers-in-law, Raymond and Gerald Welch. Raymond loved all sports, but especially loved playing them with his family. Raymond's grandchildren were the loves of his life.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Nina Welch Cochran of the residence; son and daughter-in-law, Bryant and Shalina Cochran of Chatsworth; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Allen Quillin; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Sally Cochran of Varnell; sisters, Colleen Cochran and Louise Johnston, both of Varnell; sisters-in-law, Sharrah Henderson, Joanne Welch, of Chatsworth, GA, Carol Welch of Williamsburg, VA; grandchildren, Erika and Derrick Sanford, Colby, Garrison, and Gracie Cochran; great-granddaughter, Haven Sanford; also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Raymond B. Cochran will be held Sunday, August 31, 2014 at 4:30 p.m. from Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Tim Powers officiating. Interment will follow in the Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery with Ted Welch, Fred Welch, David White, Derrick Sanford, Bryant Cochran, Colby Cochran, Garrison Cochran, and Terry Henderson serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 2:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
