Mr. Rafael Rangel Munguia, age 81, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away on Sunday morning, January 26, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 25, 1943 in Mexico, a son of the late Refael Rangel and Amparo Mungia. He was also preceded in death by his sister Emilia Rangel, brother Porfirio Rangel.

He is survived by his wife, Hermila Garcia De Rangel; daughters, Ilda Rangel and Juan Manuel Barragan, Blanca Hermila Vega and Andres Vega, Maria Del Carmen Rangel; sons, Alberto and Maribel Rangel, Rafael and Magdalena Rangel, Leonardo and Guadalupe Rangel; brother, Ramiro Rangel; sister, Socorro Rangel; grandchildren, Juan Alberto Barragan Rangel, Maria Yuliana Hernandez Rangel, Karina Maria Rangel, Christina Barragan Rangel, Christian Rangel, Elisabeth Garcia Barragan-Rangel, Lina Hernandez Rangel, Alexia Rangel, Gabriela Garcia Barragan-Rangel, Abigail Rangel, Ruby Rangel, Sara Hermila Rangel, Blanca Nayeli Vega, Claudio Alberto Rangel, Jennifer Rangel, Jared Yasid Barrientos, Leonardo Alexander Rangel, Jaiden Isaak Barrientos; great grandchildren, Camila Maria Hernandez Rangel, Julian Rafael Hernandez Rangel and one on the way; several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday January 31, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. from the Saint Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Arturo Merriman officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday.
