Mrs. Rachel Ann Hayes, 66, of Rocky Face, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday afternoon at the local hospital, September 9, 2020. Rachel was born March 2, 1954 in Dalton, Georgia, a daughter of the late Clifford Martin and Pearl Massingill Jones. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Linda Sue Howard and Kathy Smith, brothers, Wilburn Jones, James Jones, Clifford "Buck" Jones, Jr., father-in-law and mother-in-law, Marion and Estelle Hayes, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mildred and Jack Spence, Douglas and Earlene Hayes and Anna Mashburn.
She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-one years, Dennis Hayes of the residence; son and daughter-in-law, Dawson and Katrina Hayes; grandchildren, Caleb Hayes and Laura Hayes all of LaFayette, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Audrey and David Huffines, Wayne Smith all of Chatsworth, GA, Phyllis and Jimmy Millsap of Dalton, GA; brother, Jerry Jones of Chatsworth, GA; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joe and Diane Hayes, Ralph and Hazel Hayes, John and Connie Hayes, Marshall and Cinda Hayes, Carolyn Hayes, Shirley Hayes, Aaron and Particia Hayes; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Rachel Ann Hayes will be held Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Joe Hayes officiating. She will be laid to rest at Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with her family and close friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday and after 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the service hour.
Due to the National health crisis and the Covid-19 virus, masks must be worn properly at all times and social distancing must be observed when visiting the funeral home.
