Mr. Preston Martin, age 73 of Dalton, GA, departed this life, Thursday April 8, 2021 at his residence. He was born September 17, 1947 in Dalton, GA, a son of the late Julian M. and Northa Duckworth Martin. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Maxine and Jack Richardson, Patricia and Douglas Cape; special nieces, Sabrina and Dereck Pearson, April and Robert Bryson all of Dalton, GA; several special friends.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Preston Martin will be held Sunday April 11, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Ronald Guffey officiating. Interment will follow in the Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens with Ronald Chastain, Keith Chastain, Kevin Chastain, Mason Chastain, William Chastain and Stanley Chastain serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Due to the national health crisis and the Covid – 19 virus, masks must be worn properly at all times and social distancing must be observed when visiting the funeral home.
