Mr. Phillip R. Bell age 68, of Cohutta, Georgia, departed this life Sunday, to join his life with the Lord, January 1, 2023, at the local hospital surrounded by his loving family. Phillip was born January 27, 1954, in Dalton, Georgia a son of the late George Milburn and Florence Evelyn Brock Bell. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, David Bell, Robert Bell, Jerry Bell.

Phillip has been an Ordained Minister since 1995. He was a member of New Zion Hill Baptist Church. He visited a lot of other churches. Phillip worked at Shaw Industries for 48 years. Phillip loved his family and friends and going to church. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, working on cars and helping others.

He is survived by his wife of forty nine years, Brenda Bell of the residence; daughters, Amanda Gallman, Paula Teasley of Dalton, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger and Lisa Bell of Eton, GA, Randall and Patricia Bell of Chatsworth, GA, Brian Bell of Dalton, GA; sisters, Star Beene, Leann Grizell, Denise Black all of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Lynnette Justice, Nikki Cheek, Tyler and Melanie Gallman, Bryson Gallman, Kenleigh Gentry; great granddaughter, Ansleigh; special friends, Charles Tankersley, Adam Cheek; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Phillip R. Bell will be held Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Tim Cheatum officiating.  He will be laid to rest at the New Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Kevin Garrett, Tyler Gallman, Adam Cheek, Roger Bell, Austin Payne and Ryley Payne serving as pallbearers. Randall Bell and Brian Bell serving as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 11:00 a.m.  until the service hour on Saturday.
