Mrs. Pauline Granny Brown Rebecca Brown, age 99, of Dalton, GA, departed this life, Thursday March 3, 2016 at Wood Dale Health Care Center. Pauline was born August 6, 1916 in Cohutta, GA. She was the daughter of the late Arthur Stanley and Dicie Hollaway Brown. Pauline was also preceded in death by her husband, Alfred brown; step-mother, Ella Stanley; son and daughter-in-law, Earl and Doris Brown; daughter, Renda Wright; brother. Roy Stanley; sisters, Margie Westbrook, Kathrine Brindle, Margaret Jones, Lois Epperson, Janie Jordan; granddaughter, Saba Faith.

Pauline grew up knowing what hard work was, she started work at the age of thirteen in the sock mill, where she may have started her love of dipping snuff. She raised her children and grandchildren and her faith played an important part in her life, she made sure they attended church and she taught herself to read, by reading her bible daily. Pauline was an excellent cook, never measuring anything and it always turned out to be the best biscuits and chocolate cake. Pauline always kept a candy drawer and when anyone came to her home they knew where the candy was and went straight for the candy. She was a tough loving mother and grandmother, but had a loving personality during her last few years.

Mrs. Pauline Rebecca Brown is survived by her son, Randall Brown of Dalton, GA; daughters, Shirley and Dale Puryear of Chatsworth, GA, Connie Patterson of Dalton, GA; sisters, Mary Lou Bussell of Dalton, Johnnie Deems of Barnwell, GA. She is also survived, 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren and two great- great grandchildren.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Pauline Rebecca Brown will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. from Ponders Melrose Chapel with Brother Tyler Gilreath and Brother Austin Fowler officiating. Burial will follow the service at Antioch Cemetery with grandsons and great grandsons serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel, Saturday March 5, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until the service hour.
