Dr. Patricia Jane Taylor, 72, was gently walked into the arms of Jesus on April 29, 2019.  Originally from Sanford, NC, she lived in Chattanooga, TN and Ringgold, GA for the past 47 years.  She is survived by her loving husband and soulmate of 53 years, Jerry Taylor, and her only son and daughter-in-law Matthew and Heather Taylor and their children. She found her greatest delight in her five beautiful grandchildren: Jonas, Brock, Eli, Gwen and Lincoln.

A lifelong educator, she gave of herself lavishly and generously to her students at Central High School, Tennessee Temple University, Chattanooga State, and Dade County High School.  She touched countless lives in Chattanooga and beyond with her dynamic teaching and empathetic heart. Like many in Chattanooga, she attended, loved and served at Highland Park Baptist Church for years until the church's close, and most recently with Brainerd Baptist from her home.  "Aunt Pat," "PJ," "Patty," "Doc Taylor," and "Nana" were just a few of the names bestowed on her by loving friends and family. She was dear to all who knew her, and was quick to give help to family, neighbors, and friends in any way she could.

Service to celebrate the life of Patricia will be held Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. from Brainerd Chapel of Ponders Funeral Homes with Pastor Steve Battaglia and Dr. Jerry Faulkner officiating.

The family will receive friends Wednesday May 1, 2019 from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
