Mrs. Patricia Sportiello, age 85, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the local hospital surrounded by her loving family. Patricia was born October 16, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois a daughter to the late Ernest and Patricia Fryer. She was also preceded by her "soulmate, her buddy, and her better half" and "he meant everything to me'' Mr. John "Jiouanni" Michele Sportiello, brothers Jim Fryer, Ernest Fryer.
She is survived by her sons and daughters in law; Rocco and Carol Sportiello of Chicago, IL, Michael and Jackie Sportiello of Hartsville, SC, James and Susie Sportiello of Hartsville, SC, John and Michele Sportiello of Chicago, IL, daughters and sons in law; Ann and Jerri Cotnam of Dalton, GA, Alice and Ron Weissman of Alta Loma, CA, April and Pete Vela of Chicago, IL, a brother; John Flyer of Ohio; sisters-in-law, Ruth Fryer of Chicago, Rosalie Fryer of Texas. Patricia had 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Patricia Sportiello will be held Saturday May 5th. 2018 at 1:00 pm from the St. Mark's Episcopal Church with Ministers Susan Butler, Marilyn Lance and Deacon Nicholas Sportiello officiating. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Cody Munn, Brad Weissman, Christopher Weissman, Nicholas Sportiello, Larry Ulmenstine and Steven Ulmenstine serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday May 4th. 2018 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm.
