Ms. Patricia Ann Hefner Asher, age 85, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday morning, July 16, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Patricia (affectional known as "Granny") was born December 12, 1938, in Walker County, Georgia, one of twelve children of the late Tommy and Lenny I. Lewis Hefner. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Brenda Miller, Daisy Bagby, Linda Hefner, brothers, Thad Hefner and Byron Hefner.

Granny worked many years at Curt's Restaurant, Hamilton Street in Dalton, and retired from Hamilton Medical Center.

Granny loved her family, gardening, and working the yard. Her family says she could make the best chocolate pies, banana pudding and biscuits. She loved spending time with her grandbabies and great grandbabies. She was a devoted caretaker to many friends and would always lend a helping hand to those in need.

She is survived by her daughters, Pam (Kent) Ball of Dalton, GA, and Tammy (Wayne) Marcus of Eastanollee, GA; granddaughters, Holly (Matt) Stephens of Rocky Face, GA, Briana Smith of Dalton, GA, Tasha (Tyler) Scroggs and Noel (Shane) Pauley of Eastanollee, GA; great-grandchildren, Duke, Reed, and baby Stephens, Easton, Elissa, Eli Scroggs, Hannah Kate, and Abigail Pauley; sisters, Minnie Gorham of Dalton, GA, Diane (Leonard) Caylor of Rocky Face, GA; brothers, Roy (Doris) Hefner of Blairsville, GA, Bob (Diane) Hefner and Leroy Hefner of Cohutta, GA, Tommy (Angela) Hefner of Resaca, GA; close friend, Dale Payne of Toccoa, GA; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Patricia Ann (Granny) Hefner Asher will be held Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Wayne Marcus and Reverend Randy Postell officiating. She will be laid to rest with her family at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery in Cohutta, Georgia, with Kent Ball, Matt Stephens, Tyler Scroggs, Shane Pauley, Easton Scroggs and Eli Scroggs honored to serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 11:00 a.m. until the service hour.
