Obituary

Mrs. Paralee Bryant Dills, age 80, of Cohutta, Georgia, departed this life Friday evening, September 12, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Paralee was born June 27, 1945, in Dalton, Georgia, a daughter of the late Ishmeal Carl "I.C." and Mary M. Raines Bryant. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Homer L. Dills; brother, Johnny Lee Bryant; sisters, Betty Sue and Bill Ferrick, and Nola Virginia Dunn.

Paralee was a 1963 graduate of North Whitfield High School and was retired from Georgia Carpet Finishers in Chatsworth, Georgia, where she dedicated over thirty years as the billing clerk. She was a devoted daughter, caring for her parents prior to their passing, and most importantly, she was a loving and devoted mother. Paralee was a single parent for much of her son Anthony "Tony" Sharpe's life, and the bond they shared was unbreakable.

In December 2025, Paralee was diagnosed with glioblastoma. Throughout her valiant battle, Tony lovingly served as her caregiver, standing faithfully by her side as she fought with courage and grace until the very end. The greatest joy and purpose of Paralee's life was her son, Tony, who brought her immeasurable pride and happiness.

She is survived by her beloved son, Anthony "Tony" Sharpe of Cohutta, GA; sister, Ann Ward of Cleveland, TN; sister-in-law, Jeannette Bryant of Cohutta, GA; fifteen nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Paralee Bryant Dills will be held Wednesday morning, September 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel, with Reverend John Tudor officiating. She will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Cohutta, Georgia. Serving as pallbearers will be Ronnie Dunn, Paul Bagby, John Hamilton, Blake Bagby, Eli Bagby, and Elliott Bagby.
