Mr. Oscar Franks, age 71, of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, departed this life
Thursday, October 26, 2023, at the local hospital. Oscar was born December
18, 1951 in Ringgold, Georgia, a son of the late Charlie and Georgia Irene
Plott Franks. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Chester Franks and
Virgil Franks, sisters, Christina Baker, Myrtle Morrison, Arlene King and
Susie Baker.
He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-four years, Karen D. Powell
Franks of the residence; daughter, April Horn; sons, Brian Horn, Timothy
Horn and Tony Horn all of Tunnel Hill, GA; brother, Marshall Franks of
Varnell, GA; sisters, Charlotte King, and Gail Flower both Dalton, GA;
grandchildren, Hayley and Daniel Smith, Cody Horn and Ryan Horn; several
nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Oscar Franks will be held Saturday
evening, November 25, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with
Reverend John Vanes and Reverend Tony Angel officiating. He will be laid
to rest with his parents at Varnell Cemetery. The family will receive friends
at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 5:00 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2023
until the service hour.
